EmployMeBC (EMBC) is a labour market pilot project dedicated to facilitating successful job matches between unemployed people and small businesses in the Greater Victoria and Greater Vancouver regions of BC.
The program will be offered through WCG offices in Vancouver, North Vancouver, Richmond, Victoria, and Vancouver Island’s West Shore communities. EMBC caters to groups of people under-represented in the labour market, and has been designed to provide employment services to all unemployed individuals not eligible for participation in the JobWave and Triumph programs.
Who is Eligible?
Eligible Participants must be:
- unemployed individuals who are not receiving or qualified for EI benefits.
Participants are not eligible if they:
- are receiving EI;
- have received EI within the past 3 years;
- are receiving funding under any other government-funded labour market program;
- have received maternity leave under the EI act or an equivalent P/T program in the last 5 years;
- are returning students.
