Experience Counts is a new program jointly funded by the provincial and federal governments under the framework of the Targeted Initiative for Older Workers. Experience Counts helps individuals explore new career options, re-train or upgrade skills for new and emerging jobs.
Mission
Experience Counts’ mission is to support older workers in entering or re-entering the workforce by improving employability through increased skills and confidence.
Who is eligible?
All residents of Prince George between the ages of 55 and 64 who are:
- unemployed
- legally entitled to work in Canada
- lacking skills needed for successful integration into new employment
Client services
At Experience Counts, individuals work one-on-one with an Employment Coach to identify their goals and develop a plan to achieve them. Whether clients are interested in developing job search skills, assessing and updating current skills or learning new skills, we tailor the program to meet their needs.
Experience Counts provides comprehensive career exploration, skill-building workshops, assessments, skills gap training and job placements.
