Vocational Rehabilitation: Helping Canadian Forces Veterans Overcome Disabilities and Achieve Career Goals
Ottawa — The Honourable Greg Thompson, Minister of Veterans Affairs, today announced that CanVet VR Services has been contracted to provide the vocational components of Veterans Affairs Canada's broader Rehabilitation Program. The three-year contract, the result of a competitive bidding process managed by Public Works and Government Services Canada, is valued at approximately $20 million.

Call out for older workers
The provincial and federal governments recently launched a joint program, "Targeted Initiative for Older Workers (TIOW)," which is intended to assist people 55 to 64 with finding employment to use their
skills. Assistance is available for anyone in that bracket who is working fewer than 20 hours per week or happens to be unemployed. If you want to look at possibilities of training for something different or to upgrade skills, funding is available to assist with that and also to provide advice and coaching on making a

Fletcher McCusker was one of five men honoured at the 14th Annual Fathers of the Year Awards Dinner & Gala held in Tucson, Arizona on June 14th. “The FDC Awards Dinner and Gala honors men who have demonstrated they are dedicated fathers, outstanding community role models and successful in their chosen field,” says Ben Vogel, co-chair of the event. “While honoring these exemplary fathers, the proceeds from our event benefit type 1 diabetes research at the Steele Children’s Research Center at The University of Arizona.
